The real rules of cave diving drive the play: the guideline is the only way home, the rule of thirds decides when you turn (a third of your gas in, a third out, a third kept), and touching the floor causes a silt-out with zero visibility. Every dive ends with an accident analysis that names the rule you broke. The story follows Nadia Vell, a diver who went into the Ciega system alone and never came back. Off the line are 95 finds, lost slates with treasure maps and survey stations. A Daily Cave is the same for every player in the world; a Weekly Cave adds one special rule and a ghost of your best run. ## Pages - [Home](https://thelinecavediving.com/): the game, trailer, screenshots and features - [Support](https://thelinecavediving.com/support.html): purchases and restore, iCloud, Game Center, controllers, devices, languages, contact - [Press kit](https://thelinecavediving.com/press.html): fact sheet, descriptions, trailer, screenshots, logo - [Privacy Policy](https://thelinecavediving.com/privacy.html): the developer runs no servers and collects no personal information - [About](https://thelinecavediving.com/about.html): what the game is, the real rules behind it, who makes it, contact ## Common questions - What is free, and what does the Full Game unlock? The download is free. The first three dives of Ciega and the Daily Cave are free to play, with no time limit. The Full Game is one in-app purchase. It unlocks every cave system, the end of the story and the shop. There are no ads, no subscriptions and nothing else to buy. - I bought the Full Game but it is locked. How do I restore it? Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. Open the game and tap Restore purchases. It is on the Full Game screen and in Settings. Wait a few seconds with a connection. The game asks Apple again and unlocks. Once unlocked, the game remembers it and also works offline. If Restore still finds nothing, write to us with the date of purchase. - Do I have to buy it again on my iPad or Mac? No. One purchase covers your iPhone, iPad and Mac with the same Apple Account. On a new device, open the game and tap Restore purchases. The Full Game also supports Family Sharing. - How do I ask for a refund? Apple handles every payment, so refunds go through Apple: visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase. The developer never sees your payment details and cannot issue refunds directly. - How does my progress move between iPhone, iPad and Mac? With iCloud. If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is on for The Line, your progress, coins, gear and shared settings follow you to your other Apple devices with the same Apple Account. Each device combines the copies, so nothing you earned on one device is lost on another. Your photo album and settings that belong to one device, such as graphics quality and interface size, stay on that device. - My progress didn't show up on my other device. Check that both devices use the same Apple Account and are signed in to iCloud. In your device's iCloud settings, make sure iCloud is on for The Line. Open the game on the device that has the progress, with a connection, and leave it on the main menu for a minute. Then open it on the other device. It merges the copies when it starts. iCloud can take a little while. Without a connection the game plays as usual and catches up later. - How do I start over? Use Erase all progress in Settings. With iCloud sync on, this also starts the game over on your other Apple devices the next time they open it. Photos in your album are kept; you can delete them in the album. - Do I need Game Center? No. Game Center is optional. Without it the whole game plays the same; you just won't post scores to the Daily and Weekly leaderboards or collect achievements on your Game Center profile. Sign in under Settings › Game Center on your device whenever you like. - My Daily or Weekly score didn't post. Scores post when you are signed in to Game Center and online at the end of the dive. The Daily Cave ranks the day's dive; the Weekly Cave keeps your best run of the week. If the game says the score was not sent, check your Game Center sign-in and connection, then dive again. - What is the ghost in the Weekly Cave? Your own best run of the week, swimming beside you as a faint diver so you can race yourself. It is kept on your device only and is never uploaded. - Can I play with a controller? Yes. Connect a game controller that works with your iPhone, iPad or Mac, such as an Xbox or PlayStation controller, and the game switches to it. On Mac you can also play with keyboard and mouse. Touch controls are built for one thumb on the line and one on the stick. - My phone gets warm, or the battery drains fast. Turn on Battery saver in Settings. It keeps the phone cooler and the battery going longer: dives run at a lower frame rate with a slightly softer picture. The game also eases off by itself if the phone gets hot. Playing while charging, in direct sun, or in a thick case makes phones warmer. - Which devices can run it? iPhone and iPad with iOS / iPadOS 15 or later, and Mac with macOS 12 or later. The App Store page lists the exact compatibility for your device. - Can I stream or post videos of the game? Yes, please do. You're welcome to stream The Line and post videos of it, and to monetise them. A link back to this site is appreciated. - Which languages does the game support? 17: English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. The game follows your device language. To choose another, open Settings › Language in the game. Spotted a translation that reads wrong? Tell us; it helps. Last updated 2026-10-27.
